We keep pickup simple: one window, one day, every week. Here's everything you need to know.
When to Order
Orders open each week and close Wednesday at midnight. No exceptions — Ruby needs Thursday and Friday to prep and Saturday morning to steam. If you miss the cutoff, you'll be first in line for the following week.
Pickup Window
Every Saturday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Come anytime in that window — your order will be waiting, wrapped and labeled with your name. We don't hold orders past noon.
Where to Go
The exact pickup address is emailed to you by Friday evening once your order is confirmed. We rotate pickup locations within the Mountain Brook, Homewood, and Vestavia Hills area to keep things convenient for our community.
Payment
All orders are paid at checkout online. We accept all major credit cards through Shopify's secure checkout. No cash at pickup — everything is handled before Saturday so the morning runs smoothly.
What You'll Receive
Your dozen tamales arrive wrapped in kraft paper, tied with twine, labeled with your name and filling. Each package includes a card with reheat instructions. They travel well and reheat beautifully.
Weekly Limit
Ruby makes 50 dozen per week — that's the number she can produce without rushing or cutting corners. Batches typically sell out by Thursday. Get on the SMS list to be notified the moment orders open.
Reheat Instructions
Keep tamales in the husk. Steam over boiling water for 15–20 minutes until heated through. The masa will be perfectly moist and the filling will be piping hot.
Wrap individually in aluminum foil. Bake at 350°F for 20–25 minutes. Works well for large quantities when you're feeding a crowd.
Remove husk. Wrap in a damp paper towel. Microwave on high for 90 seconds per tamale. Let rest 30 seconds before eating.
Refrigerate up to 5 days. Freeze up to 3 months — they freeze exceptionally well. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight before reheating.
